The prevalence of sleep apnea in associated co-morbidities is startling: 45% for depression, 63% for stroke, 76% for heart failure, 77% for obesity, 72% for diabetes, 83% for hypertension, 57% for coronary artery disease, and 49% for atrial fibrillation.

Men are three times more likely to suffer a stroke, four times more likely to be involved in a traffic accident, and twice as likely to be involved in a workplace accident with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea.
